"Hurry, hurry, step right up to the Moisture Festival, which celebrates the arrival of spring in the best way possible." -Brangien Davis, Seattle Magazine
A Growing Community
People of all ages from innumerable walks of life make up the Moisture Festival community. We have grown over the last 10 years to present over 200 performers to more than 13,000 patrons in more than 50 annual shows. The 2013 Moisture Festival venues will include: Hale's Palladium in Fremont, Broadway Performance Hall on Capitol Hill and SIFF Cinema at the Uptown in Queen Anne. Approximately 200 volunteers will fill more than 1100 shifts!
Our community has come a long way since opening in 2004 as a small, volunteer-run festival held in a small circus tent in Fremont. We have become the largest, longest-running comedy/varietè festival in the world.
"...the Olympics of Ooh and Ahh . . . just keeps expanding to meet a seemingly insatiable local demand for whimsy, sauciness, low comedy and skillful stunts." -Misha Berson, Seattle Times
A Decade Enriching Seattle
As Charlie Chaplin said, "A day without laughter is a day wasted." We couldn't agree more and that's why we're working hard to raise money and prepare for the 10th annual Moisture Festival. That's right! As of 2013, we have been bringing people together to experience the joy of the variety arts for ten fun-filled years.
Our sponsors have helped us present a wide range of talented artists, giving them a community and stages on which to perform, while strengthening the cultural vitality of our city. By keeping ticket prices affordable, holding benefits for charitable organizations and presenting lectures that both entertain and educate, such as the upcoming talk by Dr. Patch Adams of the Gesundheit! Institute on April Fool's Day 2013, our nonprofit proudly turns the fun of comedy/varietè into a tangible public benefit.
"Seattle's Moisture Festival offers a high-spirited remedy to late-winter doldrums." -Alison Landeros, ParentMap
"...a crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike." -Michael Upchurch, Seattle Times
