Kate Wright has been training and performing since she was a youngster with Adelaide, Australiaís Cirkidz Circus. She moved to Melbourne and completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with a double major in Dance and Drama. Feeling a love for circus, she decided to move to Christchurch, New Zealand to train at CircoArts with a Diploma in Circus majoring in hula hoop and juggling. It was in Christchurch that she starting busking at the Arts Markets to get by while training and fell into street theatre. She is a co-founder of double act 'OzStar Airlines' with Eloise Green. Kate performs a solo show 'Ding Dong Yvonne Calling', works with U.K outdoor theatre company dotComedy on productions 'Get Lost' and 'The Chain' and has collaborated with film maker Paul Bell and performer Richard Stamp to create a new work 'Festival T.V.' Some festival highlights include London National Theatreís 'Watch this Space', The Stockton International Riverside Festival, 'Oerol', 'Karavaan' and Stockholm Culture Festival. 'Ding Dong Yvonne Calling' and 'OzStar Airlines' are physical character comedy and circus driven pieces whereas 'Festival T.V. ' is a project that involves a walkabout, a live show and creates digital documentation of a festival event shared on the web to reach a larger online audience. Kate truly believes that variety is the spice of life and feels very blessed to work in the arts.
